Joseph/4a Brooks Jr., born 16 Oct 1710 at Concord, Massachusetts,1, there married, 22 Feb 1738/39, Esther Durant of Billerica, daughter of John Durant and Elizabeth Jaquith.2,3 Mentioned in his father's will, 4 May 1746.4 They removed to Littleton, and thence to Temple, New Hampshire.5

Capt. Daniel/4 Adams, born 3 Jan 1690 at Cambridge, Massachusetts,2,3, settled by 1715 at Concord "where the tavern in the south part of Lincoln now [1832] stands."2 He married (1), 23 Apr 1715 at Concord, in a ceremony performed by the bride's father, Elizabeth/4a Minot of Concord, daughter of Dr. James/3 Minot and Rebecca/3a Wheeler, with whom he had 8 children.4 She died at Lincoln 12 Nov 1764, a. 675, and there he married (2), 30 Oct 1765 (int. 4 Oct, Weston), Hannah (–?–) of Weston, widow of Dr. John Binney.6 She died at Lincoln 11 Jun 17767, and he at Concord 9 Feb 1780, a. 90.8 He is buried with his 1st wife in Town Hill Cemetery, Lincoln9,10, where his stone is inscribed, My friends for me pray do not weep, | I am not dead but here do sleep; | & here Indeed I must remain, | Till Christ shall raise me up again.11
     "Capt. Daniel Adams lived in the south part of Lincoln, then within the limits of Concord, on the road from Waltham to Stow…" "He was the son of Joseph, and grandson of John Adams, one of the eight sons of Henry of Quincy," and thus a 2nd cousin, once removed, to President John/5 Adams.1 His will was proved in 1780.12
     Says Shattuck, "They had [8 children], whose descendants live in Lincoln, Boston, Townsend, and Keene, many of whom have been eminent physicians."2
